2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter or margerine softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
red/yellow/green tube frosting
candied red cherris

Sift flour and salt onto wax paper. Beat softened butter, sugar and egg in a large bowl with a mixer until fluffy, add vanilla. Stir in flour mixture to make a stiff dough. Wrap dough in wax paper or plastic wrap, chill 3 hours or until firm. Roll doug, on quarter at a time, to a 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured pastry board. Cut with 3 inch cookie cutters. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 8 minutes or until lightly browned on all edges. Romove to wire rack with spatula, cool completely. Decorate.
