Christmas 2013 Cookies

3/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup sugar
3 cups sifted flour
1 Tbsp ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup butter
1 egg litely beaten
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon (use more)
3 tsp baking powder

Melt butter, stir in molasses, sugar and beaten egg. Stir in flour, sifted together with the spices, salt and baking powder. Chill in fridge at least 2 hrs, overnight is fine. Roll out dough (not to thin) using a covered rolling pin. Use as little flour as possible. Cut with cookie cutters, bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes, do not scorch.
