1/2 lb golden raisins (1 cup)
1/2 lb raisins (1 cup)
1/2 lb currants (1 cup)
1/4 lb mixed peel (1/2 cup)
1 lb sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup bread crumbs
2 oz almonds chopped
1/2 lb suet grated (1 cup)
3 eggs
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves (powdered)
juice and grated rind of one lemon
Guinness stout
Mix all ingredients, place in pudding bowls. Cover each bowl with wax paper/parchment/linen and tie with string. Steam 6-8 hours in about 3" water on low heat in covered saucepans.
