1. Stir flor & salt together to mix. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until the crumbs are the size of small peas.
2. Sprinkle ice water into the flour mixture 1 Tbsp at a time. Mix lighlty with a fork or pastry blender until all flour is moistened.
3. Mix the dough until it sticks together and leaves the side of the bowl almost clean. Try not to mix too much as it will toughen the dough.
4. Take the pastry from te bowl and with cupped hands smooth it into a ball. |
