White Sauce:
2 cups Milk
1/2 Cup half & half
1 tsp. white pepper
2 tsp salt
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup flour.
Melt butter.
Add flour to make a paste.
Add paste to remaining ingredients.
Boil until mixture thickens (barely runny).
This makes enough for a big casserole dish. For potatoes au gratin
6 Baked Potatoes (cooled, peeled and sliced thin)
White Cheddar Cheese
Toss the potatoes with the sauce, place in a casserole dish, cover with the cheese and bake at 375 till cheese is bubbly, if you like it browned quickly place under the broiler.
