thick cut bacon
optional rub (cayenne and brown sugar work well)
optional bbq sauce

Oven
Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Twist each strip of thick-cut bacon tightly and then place it on the lined baking sheet. if using a rub sprinkle it over
Bake for 40 minutes, flipping the bacon halfway through the cooking time. (note if using bbq sauce paint it on with 10 minutes left)
Once cooked, place the cooked bacon on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any extra grease.
Smoker
Preheat grill/smoker to 350 degrees F. Twist each strip of thick-cut bacon tightly, if using a rub sprinkle it over. Place on the grill/smoker
Smoke for 30-40 minutes, flipping the bacon halfway through the cooking time. (note if using bbq sauce paint it on with 10 minutes left)
Once cooked, place the cooked bacon on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any extra grease.
